Task Force Sovereign Dev Log 1

Today I'm proud to announce the first dev log in and I hope to have many more for hopefully my first Steam game.



  • What is Task Force Sovereign?

TF Sovereign is third a tactical shooter inspired by Socom and Ghost Recon. I aim to blend authentic feeling game mechanics with more traditional arcade shooter mechanics.

  • Arcade Flight

    • I made the decision to indefinitely pause my work on the arcade flight sim. I set a goal for myself to release my first project on Steam this year, and I don't think I possess the skill set to properly finish that project in a way that meets my standard for placing it on Steam.


Main Menu

This is an idea of what I want my main menu to look like. My idea is that it will play various army marches with footage of in-game cutscenes and b-roll footage.


Locomotion

Locomotion for this game is going to be rather basic. There won't be any sliding or diving like you might find in the latest Call of Duty. I may change my mind in the future, but for the time being, this serves as a good reference for what I want it to look like once the alpha is done..


  • Future Plans

    • My current goal is focusing on multiplayer because the logic and systems for multiplayer can be backported to single-player. Single-player will be my primary focus for this project, with multiplayer taking a back burner once I get all the systems I need for single-player finished.

  • Goals For Next Blog

    • My goal for the next blog is to have my weapon logic finished and all the features for it.
